ModCloth is an absolutely perfect clothing website. A large majority of my wardrobe consists of adorable, vintage inspired dresses from them. Just when I thought a company couldn’t be any more amazing, I came across their ModDogs Facebook page to find that their office is filled with employee’s pooches! Seriously, these are the things my dreams are made of.

So, when I was given the opportunity to work with ModCloth of their newest “Party Animals” stylebook, my dreams came true. ModDog Winston’s birthday was yesterday…so they threw a party photoshoot complete with their new dog accessories and invited Pupcakes to the party!

As you can see from the way too cute behind the scenes video, Winston loved his mini cupcakes and personalized name bone.

Happy birthday Winston!

So, so good.

These dudes are seriously amazing. “Fel del av gården” is the catchiest song I’ve heard in a while. 1 note

acodedwaltz: Hello Jackie!

I don't know if you really remember me... I'm Tiffany and we were in some foundation classes together? I just wanted to say I've always thought you were super pretty and I think you have a really nice style. =) I hope that doesn't sound too weird or creeper-like of me, haha~.

In regards to your recent post, I definitely see it and recall times where I've noticed something very small but it'd end up impacting me in a bigger way than expected. It always made me feel down and weak, and I'd just end up beating myself up about it more for thinking I was worrying too much over "something silly." I've certainly had my share of major insecurities… If anything, it's reassuring to know I'm not so crazy for feeling that way about things like that, heh. We all deserve to be happy with ourselves. With the help of some wonderful supportive people, I've started embracing how I am and am also glad to not be the tiny skinny Asian stereotype. We should work those curves! =P

Enough of me rambling, we are all beautiful! And we shouldn't let the media and crazy people affect us into thinking there's only one definition for the word. =) Thanks for the post and take care!

Hi Tiffany, of course I remember you! Thank you so much for the compliments…you’re so sweet. You’re adorable and should absolutely be proud and embrace your curves!

And yes, please be reassured that you’re not crazy for feeling this way. For a while I was told that my insecurities meant that I was wildly jealous and crazy. Thanks ex boyfriends. But, the reality is that it has nothing to do with jealousy.

We absolutely are beautiful. Enough with the ugly media. Who friggin’ needs it!

— Anonymous: I just want to say the female gender isn't the only one that's objectified. I will acknowledge that there is more pressure on woman to attain those lofty/almost impossible goals. But men are constantly over looked if they don't meet the tall dark and handsome category. Just a thought. For example how many times do we have to listen to our girlfriends talk about Johnny Depp, Brad Bitt and man others. Women have their desires cute butt, 6 pack, height, muscles, no muscles, a longfellow, etc... So it goes both ways, we as humans will always idolize one image for women and men. We always have, in the beginning the ideal woman was a "robust creature" good for childbirth. Or skip ahead a few hundred years a pale supple woman was ideal. So we will always idolize something, it's in our nature.

I had this exact conversation with my boyfriend last night…are you him, Anonymous?

I absolutely agree with you and I’m sorry I didn’t mention that side of the debate in my article. I was a bit heated and didn’t feel at all like defending men at the time.

But, yes, men are objectified in the media as well. With that being said, and I don’t have an exact statistic, the amount of half naked women in printed adds and other media is significantly higher than the number men. But, that doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen.

I’m sorry to hear that your girlfriend feels the need to talk about Johnny Deppp and Brad Pitt in front of you. I can personally say that I respect my relationships enough to not do that. If I expect my boyfriend to respect me and what makes me upset I have to practice what I preach.

Ah, yes, the evolution debate. And that’s exactly what it is…evolution. Man has evolved. We used to look for women with large hips and breasts in order to procreate…now we objectify them. We used to hunt and gather…now we eat at McDonalds. We used to draw paintings with berries on cave walls and now we use Photoshop on ipads. In my opinion there is a huge difference between a caveman going “Ug, breasts, hips, good for child” and a modern day man going “Damn, look at those huge titties.”

It absolutely is in our nature to idolize. But, that doesn’t mean that men can’t change. Let’s just keep it classier.

momograce: Jackie -
I think we had the same bratty friend, who really wasn't a friend at all - and mine turned out to be a playboy model and who knows how happy she truly is.
She is blonde and Hugh's idea of perfection.

I am going to grad school for Art Therapy so I can deal with these exact issues.
I went into photography so I could deal with a women's view of women and how we choose to represent ourselves in media and in fashion.
In fact I am writing a paper on body dysmorphic disorder this weekend (which I have) and I was thrilled that you were so open and willing to share some of your personal thoughts on how the beauty industry made you feel too.

Thank you for including that article by Dan Pearce. I will use it in my paper!
Sometimes I feel that I can't get across all the damage that has been done to my partner (Justin) to my mind. 10+ years of ballet, that 5th grade girlfriend, overly critical grandmother who would call me fat and he (Justin) wonder's why I can't accept why he thinks I am beautiful. It is just not that easy.
I am not beautiful to myself and might never be but I am working on it.

The recent issue of Allure had a huge article on the new definition of beauty and how it is not this idealized blonde/ blue eyed tanned bimbo anymore - I would check it out...

Hopefully one day it could be beauty is: healthy, cancer free, has self-love and cares for others.

I want to spend everyday being me.
So here to being healthy and the occasional guilt free cupcake!

I’m so glad to hear that you’re going to school for such a wonderful thing, Momo. It sound like it will be very therapeutic for you.

And I know exactly what you mean about the significant others in our lives. It’s so hard to just accept that someone truly thinks you’re beautiful or to even think that of yourself.

I’ll definitely check out that Allure article, thanks!

If you weren’t so far away I would call for a toast with some champagne and cupcakes.
